Hull KR trio make Scotland World Cup squad
Hull Kingston Rovers trio Danny Addy, Ben Kavanagh and Kieran Moran have all been named in the final 24-man Scotland squad to compete in this year’s Rugby League World Cup 2017.
The tournament begins in Australia and New Zealand later this month and Scotland coach Steve McCormack has stuck with his tried and trusted Bravehearts who took Scotland to the quarter-finals in 2013, won the 2014 European Championship and drew with then world-number one nation New Zealand last November.
The Bravehearts have been drawn in Pool B of this year’s Rugby League World Cup and will play New Zealand, Samoa and Tonga during the pool stages, with the top three teams progressing to the Quarter-Finals.
Rovers winger Will Oakes was named in the provisional Scotland squad earlier this season but will not be part of the travelling party. Oakes competed for England Academy against France earlier this week alongside new Hull KR teammate Will Dagger.
