Match Report

Kirk Yeaman and Lee Radford both crossed the whitewash in the opening ten minutes ahead of a Danny Tickle penalty to leave the red and whites in the Welsh capital stunned.
But Rovers responded with tries for Blake Green, Clint Newton and Ben Galea to take a half-time lead.
There was no fast start from Hull FC in the second half and further scored for Galea and Welham (2) were enough to cancel consolation four-pointers from Yeaman and Will Sharp.
There were no real surprises in Justin Morgan's first selection of Engage Super League XVI with Green making a competitive debut at stand-off whilst the versatility of Ben Cockayne saw him selected on the replacements bench ahead of the unlucky Scott Taylor and former FC man Craig Hall.
The Black and Whites named Tom Briscoe at centre alongside new boy Sharp with Jordan Turner the half-back partner for Sean Long. Their marquee signing, Joe Westerman, would make his first competitive appearance for the Airlie Birds from the replacements bench.
Richard Agar's men came out with real purpose and their earlier intensity seemingly caught the Robins on the hop, summed up when Liam Cobon was hesitant in taking a Long bomb three minutes in, leading to the winger being bundled over the line for a goal line drop-out.
The Airlie Birds took full advantage with Long and Turner combining on the left hand side to send Yeaman clean through a gap ten metres from the line and there was no stopping the England international.
Tickle converted and four minutes later he was lining up another shot at goal. Galea was left reeling after coming off worse trying to put a shot on Mark O'Meley and it wasn't just the former West Tiger who was on the back foot.
Rovers were scrambling in defence and Long made the most of that by putting Radford in the clear and the prop dived over the line next to the posts.
With less than ten minutes gone Rovers trailed by 12-0 and were visibly shell shocked by a rampant Airlie Birds start.
There was only one side in it at this point as the blacks and whites played some expansive rugby and were winning the collision repeatedly.
With Rovers tempers frayed after a shock start, it was no great surprise when Scott Murrell took offence to something Craig Fitzgibbon did at the play of the ball and soon the two loose forwards were exchanging punches on the half-way line.
James Child came in from his position as touch judge to advise Phil Bentham, giving the penalty in favour of Hull FC which Tickle duly slotted over from 35 metres.
Rovers desperately need a foothold in the game and on 21 minutes they got just that. A training ground move put Briscoe in the clear but the full-back was hauled down 15 metres short of the line.
The ball was worked right and found its way back into the hands of Green who forced his way over the line for a debut four-pointer.
It hadn't come a minute too soon and before long the travelling army of Rovers fans were celebrating again. Hull FC indiscipline gave Rovers the attacking platform from the penalty, with Green passing to a rampaging Clint Newton to go over.
The first half drama didn't end there when just three minutes later the black and whites were penalised and made to pay. Galea charged onto a short ball from Dobson, and although Richard Whiting's last gasp effort to hold him up was valiant, it was in vein as the video referee awarded the try.
Dobson converted and despite a late spell of pressure for the Airlie Birds Rovers had overturned the early deficit to lead 18-14 at half-time.
After a blistering start to the first half the red and whites were prepared for what Hull FC had to offer at the start of the second period which, as it turned out, was rather little.
Green and Dobson strangled the early life out of the second half with some intelligent kicking before striking on 47 minutes.
Whiting was the culprit after he spilt the ball to give Rovers the attacking platform, from which the Dobson and Galea double-act struck again allowing the second row to claim his brace.
At this stage the Robins were in control and FC looked to be suffering for their fast start. They were still a threat however, with only some good defensive plays from Colbon and Webster snuffing out potential opportunities for Sharp and Yeaman respectively.
After weathering that storm Rovers were on the front foot again. Three successive sets were too much to handle for the black and whites defence with Dobson and Galea this time combining to put Welham in the clear.
Dobson hobbled out of the play and despite not being fit enough to kick the conversion he was able to continue. Welham duly stepped up to convert his own try and make it twenty-eight unanswered points for the Robins.
Agar's men were looking tired but nothing is ever over on derby day. Turner streaked clear on the hour and fed Fitzgibbon who looked to gallop the forty metres to the line. Newton made a despairing chase on the big loose forward and was rewarded when the ball was dislodged from the Australian's hands in the tackle.
Rovers had to be on their mettle defensively shortly after as Lyne dived in at the left hand corner following Fox's slip. But the winger was denied by Webster's tackle who forced the youngsters foot onto the whitewash before he got the ball down.
Those two near misses all but sealed the game in the Robins favour and although Sharp got a try on debut ten minutes from time you always felt Rovers had enough to resist a fightback.
Moa did make one barnstorming run down the centre of the field as a tired looking Rovers fell off successive tackles but as that attack came to nothing, so did the black and whites chances of claiming anything from the game.
Long coughed up possession near half-way and Vella swooped on the ball. The skipper was never going to make the fifty plus metres but when he was hauled down he managed a quick play of the ball that set Dobson in the clear.
He fed Galea once again who drew the defender and set Welham in at the left hand corner for a match clinching try.
Yeaman claimed a late consolation but the day belonged to the Robins.
