Hodgson pens new deal

Josh Hodgson has committed his future to the club by signing a new four-year deal.

The Robins have moved quickly to secure the long-term services of the 22-year-old, who was crowned as the club’s Player of the Year and also the Players’ Player of the Year after his outstanding form in the 2012 season.

Hodgson came to the fore in 2012 as he established himself as an integral part of Rovers’ first team, scoring 14 tries and also gaining international recognition as he was called into the England Knights squad for the first time.

“Personally this season has gone really well for me and I’m really happy to have signed this contract,” he said. What I need to focus on now is making sure I continue to progress, ensure my form is consistent and prove that this season was not a one off.

“I’m looking forward to getting back into pre-season training once my injury clears up and working alongside Sandy and the boys to give the Rovers’ fans a team they can be proud of.”

Rovers’ CEO, Mike Smith, is delighted to see Hodgson commit his future to the club:

“Securing Josh’s services for another four years is fantastic news for the club. He is one of the brightest young talents in the Super League and an integral part of the club’s plans going forward.”
