On The Pitch

City of Hull Academy Recruiting Scouts

City of Hull Academy are looking to appoint a small number of dynamic and committed members of staff to add value to the club’s existing scouting network.

The unified academy, in its second year, has enjoyed a successful second year, with the Under-19s going close to the Grand Final.

You can be a part of it by joining up as a Youth Talent Identification Scout! All the details about the role, including how to apply, can be found below.

The primary focus of the role is to attend and observe youth rugby league fixtures with a view to identifying players with the potential to progress up the academies performance pathway.

In addition to having a sound technical and tactical understanding of the game, candidates will also need to have knowledge of, or be open minded to developing understanding around maturation, relative age effect and mental skills.

Candidates will need to be good communicators both in terms of writing player reports and speaking to community club coaches and team managers. We welcome applications from across the Yorkshire region.

These positions are voluntary roles. In return for their efforts, the candidates will benefit from the opportunity of working in a professional club environment whilst gaining formal and informal personal development opportunities.

For more information, or to apply, please e-mail rob.nickolay@cofha.co.uk with a covering letter and your CV by Monday 15th September.
