Sapphire Signs continue Rovers support with Roger tribute

Prominent local partner Sapphire Signs will continue to back Hull KR in the Kingstone Press Championship this season after agreeing a multi-level sponsorship deal which includes a fitting nod to club legend Roger Millward MBE.

As part of their increasing relationship with the Robins, the corporate signage specialists will sponsor first team star James Greenwood throughout the 2017 campaign as well as renewing their membership of the popular JP Business Club for the forthcoming season.

In addition, in line with Rovers’ 135th anniversary celebrations this year, Sapphire Signs have also continued with their crossbar sponsorship at the Lightstream Stadium, with their chosen design featuring Roger’s memorable quote, “Never forget the people who love you – the supporters.”

Following the tragic loss of Roger last year, the quote was incorporated into the club’s 2017 home shirt and will now be proudly emblazoned on the crossbars at either end of the ground over the next 12 months, courtesy of Sapphire Signs.

Hull KR’s Head of Commercial, Joe Clutterbrook, said: “Sapphire Signs are a firm that continues to grow and thrive and that’s been the same with our working relationship with the company. They are now one of our most reliable sponsors and were one of the first businesses to get in touch after the Million Pound Game to confirm their commitment to the club.

“Selecting Roger’s quote to appear on the crossbars this season is a fitting choice during what will be an important and historical year for the club and I’m sure the supporters will join me in thanking Sapphire Signs for their kind gesture and continued support.”

Danny Casey, Director of Sapphire Signs, added: “We are tremendously proud of the partnership we have built up with the club over a number of years and are particularly excited to be lending our support on all fronts in 2017.

“The selection of Roger’s quote to appear on the crossbars this season seemed a natural choice and complemented what we wanted to do in other areas of the club. We really enjoyed the JP Business Club last season so it was a no-brainer to renew for 2017, whilst we were particularly keen to sponsor a stand-out player in James Greenwood.

“We’ve tried to back the club in a number of ways over the past few years and are committed to increasing our support whenever possible.”
