Rovers set pace with home and away shirt reveals
Rovers Retail have set a record pace for the club by revealing the new home and away shirts in double-quick time ahead of the Robins’ return to the Betfred Super League.
Hull KR were the first to reveal a new kit for next season when putting the 2018 home shirt on sale in mid-September and this was followed by the launch of the charcoal and pink away design last night featuring the first photos of new signing Danny McGuire in Rovers colours.
Already proving popular with impressive sales at last night’s exclusive preview night for members, as well as online and in store today, it’s the first time the club has managed to reveal both home and away kits so early and is an achievement matched this season only by Grand Finalists Castleford Tigers.
Hull KR’s Head of Marketing and Retail, Craig Franklin, said: “We’re absolutely delighted to have been able to launch both shirts before the end of October and it’s testament to the hard work that’s gone in behind the scenes by the club’s retail and commercial staff, along with kit manufacturer XBlades.
“We’d also like to thank our kit sponsors for their loyalty and support. Every sponsor committed to coming on board the 2018 shirts earlier this season, well before our promotion was secured, so it’s a just reward for them that they’ll get to see the team run out in the kits in the Betfred Super League once again and enjoy the greater rewards that come with it.
“To have both shirts on sale so early is certainly a huge turnaround for the club compared with recent years. We didn’t reveal this season’s home shirt until November 18th last year so it’s a significant improvement and hopefully beneficial for our supporters who are planning on buying merchandise in the run up to Christmas.
“We still have one month remaining of the club’s financial year and we are on course for a record-breaking year for the retail department, with sales set to beat even those of 2015 when we reached Wembley in the Challenge Cup final.”
The new 2018 away shirt is priced at £47 for adults, £36 for juniors and £32 for toddlers and is on sale now in store and online at www.hullkr.co.uk/shop
