Will Dagger hoping 2020 pre-season is his best
Hull Kingston Rovers utility-back Will Dagger is keen to make the 2020 pre-season his best yet.
Speaking to KRTV, the 20-year-old is hard at work under Tony Smith’s regime as the Robins gear up to the forthcoming Betfred Super League campaign.
Now in his third pre-season at the club, Dagger is focusing on being right in Smith’s thoughts by the time the friendlies against Wakefield Trinity and Featherstone Rovers come around.
“I’ve ripped into pre-season so far and I want to make this the best one that I ever have. They’re a great set of lads, too,” Dagger told KRTV.
“Tony has changed a lot of things in pre-season. I can’t put my finger on it but it’s a different style of coaching. It’s good as it’s different, and it’s good to have that change.
“(Ben) Coops (new Head of Strength and Conditioning) and Willie (Poching, assistant coach) have slotted back in really well – they’re helping me massively in training so far.
“The new lads in my position, such as Greg Minikin and Shaun Kenny-Dowall, have a lot of experience and have played a lot more games than I have so I’m picking up tips and tricks along the way from them.”
