Rovers reel in forward Trout until the end of 2019
Hull Kingston Rovers have secured the signing of Dewsbury Rams forward Kyle Trout for the remainder of the season.
The 28-year-old, who can also slot in at loose-forward, arrived at KCOM Craven Park this morning and will be eligible for the final five games of the Betfred Super League campaign.
Making his Super League debut with Wakefield Trinity in 2012, Trout – who will be sponsored by Cleansure – went on to feature 25 times for the West Yorkshire side.
Loan spells at various clubs followed but in recent years the forward has found form at Sheffield Eagles and more recently Dewsbury, where he has been an ever-present in 2019. Trout’s seniority at the Rams became evident across the last 18 months.
The club has agreed an undisclosed fee for Trout’s services and we would like to thank everybody at Dewsbury for their co-operation in bringing Kyle to Hull KR, as well as wishing them the best for the remainder of the campaign.
“I’m really excited to get another crack at Super League. I’ve had a few years in the wilderness now so it’s great to be back,” Trout told hullkr.co.uk.
“I’ve worked with James Webster at Wakefield before and things didn’t work out for one reason or another but now I’m here and I get another chance here. The move happened so fast but luckily for me and my career it has.
“I have the opportunity now and it’s up to me to take it. I want to prove some things to myself as well as everybody else, that I am good enough for this level.
“I know Ben Crooks, I’ve played with Robbie Mulhern earlier in my career. I came through the amateur game with Danny Addy and Owen Harrison played on loan for Dewsbury for us earlier in the season. I’m looking forward to getting to work with my new team-mates now and I’m playing for a deal for next year.”Back To Latest News +
