Run with the Robins

‘Hearty Lives Hull' and Hull City Council Sports Development have teamed up with Hull Kingston Rovers to launch the ‘Run with the Robins' social jogging group!

The group is designed to cater for all adult abilities ranging from those who have never ran before and wish to begin with a brisk walk through to those who are looking to get extra miles in for their marathon training and want to do it in the comfort of a group environment.

Joggers are encouraged to go at a pace that is comfortable for themselves and is perfect for those who have ambitions to enter one of the cities many running events such as the Sport Relief Mile, the Jane Tomlinson 10k or Race for Life later in the year.

Whether you are looking to lose weight or simply meet new friends and run in the safety of a large group, this is ideal for people wanting to start running for the very first time and there is no pressure to be the next Paula Radcliffe or Usain Bolt!

The group will meet at Craven Park outside the Roger Millward stand every Monday from 6th February 2012 and will be led by trained run leaders who will be on hand to offer advice and encouragement. The group will be setting off at 6:30pm and is free of charge.

The group is looking for a small group of volunteers to help run the group, in return we can offer the Run England accredited Leadership in Running Fitness qualification. Contact Andy at Sports Development for more information on (01482) 318005 or email andrew.mckee@hullcc.gov.uk
