Rovers trio booked in for surgery
Hull Kingston Rovers can confirm that first team trio Adam Quinlan, Justin Carney and Lee Jewitt will all undergo surgery next week on injuries that will rule them out for the rest of the season.
Quinlan limped off the field midway through the second half of Sunday’s victory over Halifax with a suspected ACL injury and scans this week have confirmed the extent of the damage to the in-form full back. Quinlan will now undergo knee reconstruction surgery with his timescale for recovery likely to stretch well into the 2019 season.
Carney left the field before half-time on Sunday after damaging ankle ligaments and he too will require a reconstructive operation. The news sadly means the popular winger has played his final game for the club having confirmed last week his plans to return home to Australia at the end of the season to be closer to his two young children.
Prop Jewitt has also been pencilled in for surgery next week on a shoulder issue that will rule him out of action for a number of months, however the front rower is expected to be fit for the start of the 2019 campaign.
The club would like to wish all three players a full and speedy recovery.Back To Latest News +
