Rovers To Host Castleford Tigers Streamed Testimonial
Hull Kingston Rovers are pleased to announce they will be playing Castleford Tigers in a pre-season clash on the 14th March at Hull College Craven Park.
Whilst the two teams will be going head to head to celebrate the testimonial of Castleford Tigers long-serving forward, Adam Milner, the game will be played at Hull College Craven Park with the club keen to host a fixture at home for the first time in almost a year.
Hull KR Chief Executive Paul Lakin explained: “The game will mark an astonishing 364 days since the stadium last hosted a fixture with us being the only club not to play at our home venue when the 2020 season resumed.
“Testimonials are usually hosted at the home venue of the player, however with no fans able to attend, so no ticket revenue available for Adam, we were really keen to offer our facilities free of charge and flip the fixture so we can test our operation from a covid-19 protocol perspective.
“It will allow us to be fully prepared for the safe return of supporters in the Spring. I’d like to thank Adam Milner, his testimonial committee and the Castleford Tigers for agreeing to this request.”
Following a busy off-season enrolment in the playing group, the testimonial comes as a welcome opportunity for the likes of Brad Takairangi, Ryan Hall, Korbin Sims and Albert Vete to showcase their skill to their new team mates and coaching staff.
Not only a good chance for the NRL imports to make their mark, but also one for the younger players to give Tony Smith and his coaching staff selection headaches going into the first round against Catalans Dragons on the 27th March.
With no supporters allowed inside the stadium in line with Government Guidelines, the fixture will be available to stream via the Castleford Tigers Facebook page for a £4.99 donation to Adam’s testimonial fund. Further details will follow nearer the time.Back To Latest News +
