Rovers confirm departures of Drinkwater, Atkin and Greenwood at end of 2019
Hull Kingston Rovers can confirm that Josh Drinkwater, Chris Atkin and James Greenwood will all leave the club at the end of the season.
Drinkwater has enjoyed an ever-present campaign with the Robins since joining from Catalans Dragons, scoring six tries in his sole season at the club.
Atkin made his debut for the Robins in mid-2017 having signed a two-and-a-half year contract from Swinton Lions, before going on to star for KR in his debut Super League campaign.
Greenwood made 92 appearances during his time at Rovers after first arriving on loan from Wigan Warriors. He scored a total of 22 tries before a season-ending ACL injury blighted much of this current campaign, whilst Atkin featured 66 times for the Robins, touching down on 14 occasions.
Head coach Tony Smith said: “I’ve enjoyed my time with all three of those young men in terms of working and alongside them.
“Unfortunately I haven’t had a chance to coach James but he’s been a pleasure around the place and a professional in terms of how he’s been rehabbing. Chris and Josh have been tremendous and I wish them well in their future careers.
“It’s been a short but enjoyable time spent with them on my behalf but we all wish them the best of luck in the future.”
Supporters will have the chance to bid farewell to the trio this Friday when the club host London Broncos at KCOM Craven Park (7.45pm kick-off).Back To Latest News +
