Membership update 

We hope you, our valued members, continue to stay safe and healthy.

Since the last update, our players and staff have agreed revised terms for the remainder of the season. We are delighted with their attitude and willingness to support the club to help us survive. They have done their bit, as have you, the supporters. Only a fraction of you have paused membership payments, at this stage, which has kept the club afloat; at a time when few revenue streams are available to us. We will never tire of saying thank you for supporting us, so once again – thank you!

The club are aware of recent press speculation regarding a revised stadium capacity once crowds are allowed to return, we are proactively liaising with the relevant authorities to establish what any impact may be. It will take some time to work through and at this stage we don’t have any definitive answers. However supporters are assured we are doing everything within our control to minimise the impact whilst ensuring we achieve a ‘COVID secure’ venue.

Following the membership survey, we have listened to all your suggestions and acted accordingly. Whilst we have modelled the impact of revenue to the club based on your survey results, this is a very precarious situation. Whilst all supporters are encouraged to do what is right for their personal circumstances if there was suddenly a sea change this could severely affect our planning and cash flow situation. Any ‘upside’ in revenue versus forecast will be invested directly into the 2021 first team and secure as many jobs for our support staff as possible. Please do not think, ‘my contribution doesn’t matter,’ every penny counts at this critical stage.

In recent membership communications we have talked about this being a ‘critical moment in the clubs long and illustrious history’, we are finally here, and the future of the club is in your hands.

In the first instance we will be operating a ‘request a call back’ scheme. With so many individual membership circumstances and scenarios we feel it is best to tailor what we offer to each member accordingly. We do not believe a ‘one size fits all’ approach will work in these circumstances. Whilst this is slightly more onerous and may take some time to contact you all, we hope you appreciate the rationale.

In the first phase we will offer members three options…

a) I understand the position the club are in and wish to pledge my support by leaving my membership running as normal –for supporters who can and wish to continue their full support for the club. Once again, thank you, the commitment is appreciated.

b) I wish to speak to someone at the club soon about my membership options (within 7 days – calls will commence from August 3rd)– for supporters who wish to discuss their options immediately due to a personal change in circumstances or pressing financial concerns.

c) I’d like to speak to someone at the club about my options but there’s no immediate rush (within 30 days – calls will commence from August 3rd)– for supporters who may need to look at their options but are in no rush to make a decision.


To further protect our finances the vast majority of our staff remain on furlough at the moment, therefore, we ask that you please do not attempt to contact the club unnecessarily with individual scenarios or questions. Use the form and we will call you as soon as we can. This will ensure we do not miss any requests too. We will not take requests for call backs via email, social media or otherwise.

If we do not hear from you, we will assume you are opting for option ‘a’. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
