KR sign exciting Academy trio to First Team
Hull KR are delighted to announce the signings of Academy products, Daniel Okoro, Connor Moore and Max Kirkbright to professional first-team contracts for the next two seasons.
The signings are a fresh addition to the Robins’ long-term commitment of building for the future while strengthening the bonds between the club’s Academy and First Team.
Hardworking forwards, Okoro and Moore will join KR’s increasingly, dynamic pack for 2022 while centre, Max Kirkbright, will look to progress amongst the club’s experienced three-quarter line, including Ben Crooks, Shaun Kenny-Dowall, Ryan Hall and Lachlan Coote.
After featuring for the U19s this season and training with the first team for the past month, Tony Smith was delighted to reward the trios’ hard work: “We’ve had a number of our young players step up from the academy and training with us over a number of weeks. We’ve picked out three to continue on a full-time basis for next year.
“We’ve got two middles in Dan (Okoro) and Connor (Moore) stepping up as front-rowers. They’ve been standouts in the way they’ve trained and play so far this year. Also, we’ve got Max who is a young centre coming through. Max has been exceptional in training and on the field.
“We haven’t finished yet. We want our young players vying for positions and striving to get a call-up to the first team.”
Head of Youth, Jason Netherton was delighted to see three of the club’s Academy players sign first-team deals: “I think it’s brilliant for the players and the club. All three have done fantastic – particularly over the lockdown period. All three worked really hard to stay fit and develop their skills.
Max (Kirkbright) is our U19s captain and very well respected amongst the boys. Daniel (Okoro) and Connor (Moore) are both dedicated, direct front-rowers. I think the future is big for those three boys.”Back To Latest News +
