Hull KR helping people back to work
Hull Kingston Rovers Community Trust is pleased to announce an award of new funding from Newground Together, which is part of the Together Housing Group.
The Trust will deliver a new employability training project which will help unemployed people in Hull aged 16 plus to improve their chances of getting a job.
“Learn with the Robins” will offer up to six months’ work experience as well as volunteer roles which will involve spending time with Hull KR’s highly qualified community coaches. Trainees will achieve qualifications, undertake training and gain references which will improve their work readiness.
There will also be opportunities to speak to employers about their expectations of people that work for them.
Learn with the Robins will offer those who are unemployed and struggling to find work the chance to receive intensive one-to-one support and benefit from group workshops and training covering CV writing, letter writing, completing application forms, interview skills, volunteering and work experience.
Helen Schofield, the Trust Manager said: “We are excited to be delivering this project to local people. We have a lot to offer those who join us.
“The partnership with Newground came about through our connection to Chevin housing and we will be supporting their tenants on Ings Estate as part of the programme.
“We aim to make a real difference to the people we work with and using the powerful brand of Hull KR and the popularity of rugby league we can engage with a wide range of people from a variety of backgrounds.”
