Hull KR and Royal British Legion join forces to say ‘Thank You’…
The club are proud to announce that the charity shirt will raise funds for the Royal British Legion. The Royal British Legion is currently leading a national campaign to say ‘Thank You’ to the entire generation who lived through the war, served, sacrificed and changed our world. The charity is calling on the public to remember not only the British and Commonwealth Armed Forces who lost their lives, but also those – military and civilian – who played their part on the home front and those who returned to build a better life for the benefit of generations to come.
Catherine Davies, Head of Remembrance at the Royal British Legion commented on the partnership with Hull KR “The First World War left so many legacies that positively impact our lives today, from ground-breaking social change to pioneering innovations. This Centenary of the ending of the First World War is a chance for us all to thank not only the British Armed Forces who fought and gave their lives, but also to the thousands who fought alongside them from India and across today’s Commonwealth, and the many men, women and children who played their part on the home front. The Royal British Legion is very grateful to Hull Kingston Rovers for supporting our ‘Thank You’ movement and for helping fans to commemorate and learn about the history of the First World War. We are also grateful to the Hull KR for selling Poppy shirts in 2019. Money raised from these sales will help the Legion support today’s Armed Forces community through hardships, injury and bereavements.”
2019 ‘Poppy’ charity shirts are still available from hullkr.co.uk/shop, the KCOM Craven Park Fan Experience Zone and the City Centre Retail Store and are priced at £49 for adults and £42 for juniors.Back To Latest News +
