Club response to COVID-19
Updated 9pm, Monday 23rd March
The club is following all Government advice and are urging supporters to do the same, please read the advice and stay at home!
Whilst of course we understand that many supporters will be disappointed to see the Betfred Super League season postponed, it is a decision everybody at the club fully understands and supports given the current situation and continued spread of COVID-19.
As a sport, rugby league often comes together during times of difficulty and we are sure that supporters of Hull Kingston Rovers, and all other rugby league clubs, appreciate that this difficult decision has been taken with the health of all in mind.
Of course, we all want to see professional rugby league return as soon as is safely possible.
However, it is only by helping tackle this unprecedented situation, and by following the advice of the Government and health officials, that we will ensure this happens.
In the interim, the club are looking at how it can use players and staff to support the wider community during this difficult time remotely.
The following measures will be in place at Hull Kingston Rovers:
- All training sessions have been suspended.
- No access physical access to players or coaching staff. Remote opportunities for press and supporters will be implemented.
- All Community Trust activity is suspended.
- All events and conferences at the stadium are postponed until further notice.
- The Fan Experience Zone is closed until further notice.
- FREE UK delivery will be offered for supporters with overseas shipping reduced by 50%. There’s 25% off everything online at hullkr.co.uk/shop using ‘ROVERSFOREVER’. Delivery dates and times will vary during this time.
- The club’s phone system is no longer be taking calls with all off field staff working remotely.
As a club we will of course keep our supporters updated at all times and we thank you for your continued understanding and support.
The postponement of games will put significant financial pressure on the club with forecasted cash flow severely restricted. For any supporters who are financially able to, there’s three easy ways you can go ‘above and beyond’ to help support the club at this difficult time…
