After the departure of assistant coach James Webster, Willie Poching was brought back for his second stint at the club. It is also the third time Poching has worked with Tony Smith.
He won a Grand Final and Club World Challenge with Smith at Leeds as a player before going on to win a Challenge Cup and a League Leaders’ Shield as Smith’s assistant at Warrington.
Poching also represented Samoa and New Zealand at international level and has over 200 Super League appearances to his name.
At Hull KR, Poching spent two years as Chris Chester’s assistant and has since spent time as a coach at Salford Red Devils and Huddersfield Giants, meaning he returns to East Hull with more coaching experience than when he left at the end of the 2016 season.
