Quinlan dominates 2018 Player of the Year awards

Hull Kingston Rovers full back Adam Quinlan enjoyed a memorable night at this evening’s 2018 Player of the Year awards, sponsored by FTP Electrical Services Ltd, by scooping four of the top trophies.

Following an impressively consistent season from the ex-St George Illawarra and St Helens No.1, Quinlan was named the club’s Roger Millward Player of the Year, the Players’ Player of the Year and the Members’ Player of the Year.

Robbie Mulhern finished as a runner up in several categories alongside Chris Atkin and Danny Tickle, but Mulhern did pick up the Young Player of the Year award after a dominant season in the Rovers pack which also brought England Knights recognition alongside teammate Atkin.

Elsewhere on a night that saw 250 guests pack into the Legends Lounge at KCOM Craven Park for the prestigious black tie event, Maurice Blair deservedly received the Colin Hutton Outstanding Contribution Award after making his 100th appearance for the club in 2018.

Youngster Joe Wardill scooped the Community Clubman of the Year title following his stellar work for the Hull KR Community Trust whilst Tackle of the Season also went to Quinlan and Try of the Season went to Craig Hall for his effort against Hull FC.

The club were also proud to announce on the night that The Colin McNicol Well has been renamed in honour of the former Rovers chairman who sadly passed away earlier this year.
