Playing For Success
Playing for Success (PfS) is a Department for Education and Skills initiative established in 1997. Working in partnership with Local Authorities, the department creates out of school hours study support centres within high profile sports clubs nationwide.
Hull KR’s Playing for Success Centre built in 2006 has its own unique programme of study and has the freedom to create activities for children and young people beyond the National Curriculum. Core objectives are threaded through a programme of exciting and innovative workshops based largely on the subject of Rugby League.
Our centre was officially opened in 2007 by Rt Hon John Prescott and is unique in its design and approach, creating a fun and alternative learning environment for children and young people to learn in. Sponsors have helped to create a colourful and functional learning setting, and particular credit must go to Wooden Spoon, PCS and PhD for their integral support of the project.
