Youngster Harris departs the club
Hull Kingston Rovers half back Liam Harris has decided to head to pastures new after taking up a two-year contract with a Kingstone Press League 1 club from 2018.
Harris, who made his first team debut for the Robins earlier this season, has turned down the offer of a new deal at KCOM Craven Park in favour of the move, with his destination set to be confirmed later this evening.
Under current RFL rules, his new club have paid a compensation fee to Rovers following Harris’ development through the academy ranks.
Speaking from Australia where he is currently overseeing recruitment for next season, Rovers head coach Tim Sheens said: “Liam was out of contract at the end of the 2017 season and was offered the chance to stay with us for next year. He was highly thought of by the club and we wanted him to remain here, but he’s decided to take up a new challenge and we wish him all the best for the future.”
