Under-19s face Tigers in semi-finals

The City of Hull Academy’s under-19s have secured a top-four finish for the first time and will face Castleford Tigers on Friday night for a place in the Grand Final.

A joint academy run by both Hull Kingston Rovers and Hull FC, the academy is now in its second season and it’s been a successful year for the under-19s in particular as they made it nine games unbeaten with a 32-28 victory over Huddersfield Giants at the weekend.

That was enough to secure third on the league table and earn a play-off clash against second-placed Castleford at The Jungle on Friday evening, kick-off 7pm.

The two clubs have met just once so far this season with the match ending in a 26-26 draw at Bishop Burton College back in April.

The winners of the match will face the winner of the other semi-final, Wigan Warriors vs Catalans Dragons, in the Academy Under-19s Grand Final.

Good luck lads!
