Jubb and Butler-Fleming join Knights
Outside back Jake Butler-Fleming and young hooker Will Jubb have both agreed one-year contracts to join Hull Kingston Rovers’ partner club York City Knights for the 2018 season.
With both players previously featuring on dual registration for the League 1 side, academy graduate Jubb has now been released from his contract at KCOM Craven Park to sign a permanent deal with York for next season, whilst the out-of-contract Butler-Fleming has also turned down interest from elsewhere to join Hull KR’s partners.
Head coach Tim Sheens said: “We wish Will and Jake all the best with York for next season and we’ll be watching closely to see how they get on.
“As with all the players up at the Knights, they’ll remain very much a part of the Rovers family and they’ll be playing alongside the likes of Ben Cockayne and Graeme Horne, as well as some other players who we’ll be putting on dual registration up there once again next year.
“That means that they’ll be staying in the system that exists between the two clubs and ensures that neither player is lost to us permanently. We’ll be working in tandem with York and we’ll be keeping a close eye on how everybody is progressing at the Knights in terms of our longer-term plans.”
