MORGAN RUES COSTLY ROVERS ERRORS

Hull KR Head Coach Justin Morgan was rueing costly errors in a defeat to Wigan Warriors that was perhaps closer than the scoreboard suggested.
The Robins went toe-to-toe with the champions but were always behind in the game after Joel Tomkins opened the scoring.
When Rovers did respond with a try of their own, Wigan were quick to punish the hosts for errors almost immediately and ensure the Robins were always at arms length on the scoreboard.
Speaking after the game, Morgan commented: "We'd get ourselves back in the game via a try and we'd either make a mistake from the kick-off or we'd give away a penalty," said Morgan.
"We allowed them to score straight back which made it difficult and we were always chasing our tail.
"I thought we continuously turned up and had a crack, but as I said, too many errors in good field position that eventually cost us.
"I thought we got ourselves back into the game two or three times but couldn't go on with it.
"You've got to give credit to the team that won. They took their opportunities when we made the errors but I thought we were pretty decent in handling a lot of the things that they did throw at us.
"We just allowed them to get on the front foot on the back of errors."
There could be no questioning the effort or desire of the red and whites to back-up last week's victory over Leeds Rhinos, a fact acknowledged by the Rovers Head Coach.
"It was a good effort but effort doesn't get you points. Certainly after last weekend's performance we were coming into the game nice and confident. If we had cut some of those errors out we could have got our noses in front and gone onto win the game.
"That's if's, buts and maybes and it wasn't the case today.
"It was a fairly intense match. We had to chop and change it towards the back end with Josh Hodgson playing in the back row and Rhys Lovegrove in the centres.
"We had a patchwork team out there but in terms of intensity it was an intense game but you expect that from the champions.
"You've got to take your hats off to them. They're a champion team and that's why they're the current Super League holders.
"But we've got a couple of days rest and it's important that we utilise that to it's maximum and we roll into next Friday. We'll be up for the game, no doubt about that but we have to make some improvements on tonight.
"In terms of effort it was excellent. In terms of grit it was excellent. In terms of execution - not great."
Morgan confirmed after the game that Liam Colbon was withdrawn due to a hamstring injury that will keep the winger out of action for at least a fortnight.
