‘Icons of Hull’ 2022 away kit revealed
Hull KR are proud to unveil a striking new away kit celebrating our 140-year connection to the City of Hull.
Unveiled ahead of our anniversary year, the kit is once again produced by Oxen, with new principal partner Connexin taking the main sponsorship position.
Hull KR were formed by a group of Boilermakers in a terrace house off Hessle Road in 1882. Since then, the club and City has transformed, and the club have become an icon of the City, representing our area everywhere we go on the road, and to TV audiences across the World.
In the famous blue and yellow colours associated with the area for so long, the shirt prominently features everything we love and know from the region including, Spurn Point lighthouse, the Trinity Church windows, the three City Crowns, the BHS Ship Mural which spells Hull, and of course the iconic Humber Bridge + more!
Additionally, in place of our traditional band, the front of the shirt sports a wavey blue band representing the river Hull.
Launching alongside the shirt are a selection of limited edition ‘Icon of Hull’ tees which feature the East Riding of Yorkshire rose, the Deep, the iconic tidal barrier pattern, and the aeroplane in which Hull born Amy Johnson become the first female pilot to fly solo from England to Australia.
The shirt is available to pre-order now, with stock expected to arrive for dispatch by mid-December. Supporters are being offered the chance to pre-order theirs now with a Christmas UK delivery guaranteed.
Paul Lakin Chief Executive at Hull KR is excited to put a modern twist once again on a design that reflects our heritage.
“We’ve said from the start that in our 140th anniversary year we want to use this as an opportunity to look forward and evolve just as much as we want to celebrate the past. From the launch of our new crest, to unveiling 2022 designs that provide modern interpretations of classic designs, to this which celebrates our 140 year link with the City. It allows us to use some new colours not seen before on our away shirt and showcase the area we are proud to call home.”
It’s a fantastic opportunity to promote our city and region, and we know that we are an icon of the City that provides a great platform for our area to a national and worldwide TV audience. So for our supporters to not only wear our badge on their chest, but have it placed alongside the best of what we have to offer as a region, will be a proud moment I’m sure.”
