The farm allows adults with learning difficulties the opportunity to take part in training activities. The participants who all suffer from learning difficulties were delighted with what was provided for them.
The group arrived at Craven Park with carers and staff from the East Hull Community Farm to take part in a full day of fun activities consisting of a tour of nearby training facility, Soccer Sensations. The group were given a detailed introduction of the facilities and also had the pleasure of using some equipment within the gym. After an hour of fitness orientated activities the group headed over to Craven Park for a stadium tour.
After a strenuous morning the group was treated to a Buffet lunch within the Executive area of Craven Park were they could mingle and chat with first team players James Webster, Mark Lennon and Jason Netherton along with the Community Development Team. Once everybody was refuelled it was on the pitch were more activities were undertaken consisting of multi-skills with players and staff on hand to give tips and advice to the group. Presentations finished off the day were everybody received prizes and certificates for their efforts throughout the day, with Rufus the Robin on hand.
Trish Dixon, Course manager and Teacher at the East Hull Community Farm was delighted with the day and said, "Rovers went above and beyond the call of duty for us. They put on a whole day of activities and we were there at 10am and each and every one of the learners were greeted individually and given name tags. We were given a tour of the stadium, pitch, the gym and used the all-weather pitches. They were treated like kings and queens and it was an absolutely amazing day that will be unforgettable."
