FISHER FIRING AND READY TO GO

The Scotland international played 31 times for Halifax and scored 17 tries before joining up with the Robins in Super League and says he is relishing the chance to meet up with some old friends.

"I am looking forward to it- I really love Halifax," said Fisher, who has since made over 130 appearances in the red and white of Hull KR.

"It's a great place and I really enjoyed my time there.

"There are some great people that are still there from when I was there so I'm really looking forward to catching up with them, because with the time we get off the chances to go and see them are few and far between." ::QUOTE1::

Following Sunday's friendly against his old club the Robins will have just one final hit-out before the season starts for real against Hull FC at the Millennium Stadium in Cardiff on February 13th.

Fisher said: "I'm looking forward to the start of the season. My bodies feeling good, I'm feeling strong and fit. I'm looking forward to another friendly, getting the contact right and the timing back and just blasting out the cobwebs.

"Pre-Christmas there was a fair bit of disruption but we've got a lot of quality work in in the last few weeks and it's been really good. The boys are firing and ready to go."

Fisher is part of a strong squad mixed with youth and experience for this Sunday's trip to West Yorkshire, and he admits he is excited to see how the academy prospects fare on their first team debut.

"They've all been quite good," said Fisher of Academy trio Jordan Cox, Louis Sheriff and Dave Petersen.

"Jordan and Louis joined us at the end of last year and showed promising signs and they've continued that on through the pre-season. They've all done well with their pre-season.

"Aaron Ollett (training with the first team squad in pre-season) has probably been the biggest stand-out for me. He's been outstanding in what he takes on board and how he conducts himself so I think he'll be a decent player for the club in the future.

"I'm looking forward to seeing how the boys go and I'm looking forward to playing with them at the weekend. It should be good fun."
