Trust win at Rugby League Cares Awards
Hull KR Community Trust were the winners of two awards at the recent Rugby League Cares Awards held in November in Manchester.
The award for Best Sport Project was given to recognise the work the Trust has done in partnership with HMP Humber. A team of the Trust’s coaches delivered coaching to the staff and inmates at the prison in rugby league, physical fitness and nutrition. They also provided equipment to enable the programme to go ahead.
The award for Best Education Project was given to recognise the work the partnership between the Trust and Tweendykes Special School. The Trust began working with Tweendykes in 2007 and have established a long term partnership since 2011. The Trust has delivered education, sport and work experience programmes to over 300 pupils with additional needs and this continues to grow.
