Dance Academy

Community Trust

The Hull KR Dance Academy was launched in March 2010 and has gone from strength to strength, resulting in the expansion of our developing dance programme.

We currently attract in excess of 70 children and young people to KCOM Craven Park each week where they are taught routines to be performed at selected match days, shows and events. Many of the young people who have been part of the Dance Academy over the years have progressed in successfully auditioning to be part of the official Hull KR Dancers match day dance team.

The Dance Academy are offered fantastic, exclusive opportunities and have taken dancers to perform at Wembley, St James Park, the Four Nations and this year they will be performing in Blackpool at the Summer Bash.

The Dance Academy focuses on developing key fundamental movement skills such as agility, balance, coordination, flexibility and core strength with fun and exciting dance activities.

Participants not only take part in an activity that promotes a healthy lifestyle but also engages them with Hull Kingston Rovers.

As the popularity of the Dance Academy has grown we have decided to expand and offer sessions to younger children with the Infants class now starting at age 3 for girls and boys.

Hull KR Dancers

The Hull KR Dancers are Hull Kingston Rovers' official dance team who perform at each home game and take part in events around the city. All dancers who are part of the team successfully completed an informal audition, are expected to take part in weekly dance classes at the Hull KR Dance Academy and are aged 16+. The Hull KR Dancers are currently sponsored by Seasiders Withernsea.

The club are always interested in confident individuals who have some dance experience, who are enthusiastic and enjoy performing in front of a large crowd to help create a great atmosphere on match days.

Dancers must have some dance skills, a big smile and personality but no cheerleading experience is needed.

If this is you, auditions take place throughout the year and further information is available from Amelia Lowis on 01482 716552 or by emailing
