Rovers secure new stand sponsor in MLS Group

National energy and construction firm MLS Group have teamed up with Hull Kingston Rovers to become the new sponsor of the MLS Group Colin Hutton Stand with immediate effect!

Supporters will be able to see the North Stand’s new look at tomorrow’s Good Friday clash with Featherstone Rovers at KCOM Craven Park after the Hull-based firm agreed an exciting new commercial partnership with the club until the end of 2018.

MLS Group was founded by Michael Lingard Smith in 2009 and has been supporting projects in the energy and construction sectors for close to a decade now, providing a range of services on major developments within the private sector across the UK.

A long-term Rovers fan born and bred in the city, Michael has insisted that the stand retain the name of Rovers icon Colin Hutton, who sadly passed away in February after a 60-year association with the Robins.

Speaking to www.hullkr.co.uk, he said: “We’re really excited to start what we hope will be an exciting and prosperous new partnership with Hull Kingston Rovers. We’ve come a long way over the past eight years but we still have ambitions to grow further, as has been demonstrated by expanding our operations to incorporate another line of work from the start of May.

“We certainly hope that this sponsorship will grant us exposure to new markets and the opportunity to connect with the larger fanbase, but it was also important to me to help support Hull KR during what is a really important for the club and everybody connected with it in the local community.

“As a lifelong supporter, it’s humbling to see our name up on the stand at KCOM Craven Park and alongside that of Colin Hutton, a real rugby league legend who dedicated so much of his life to the club.”

Hull Kingston Rovers CEO Mike Smith added: “Our stand sponsors at KCOM Craven Park are some of our most prestigious commercial partners and it’s truly exciting news for the club to welcome a successful business such as MLS Group to the fold.

“Their track record speaks for itself, they’re local and proud of it, with the expertise to work on huge projects all across the UK, and to have them on board really is a tremendous coup for the club and our commercial team.

“Michael has been a pleasure to work with throughout this process, his passion for the club really comes across and his support has come at a hugely important time for us as we approach the busy Easter period and the halfway point of the Kingstone Press Championship season.

“I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome Michael and his colleagues to the Hull Kingston Rovers family and we look forward to working with him over the next couple of years.”
