Hull Angling Centre back on board

Leading fishing tackle retailer Hull Angling Centre have once again hooked up with Hull KR after returning to the club as a kit sponsor for 2017.

The local business, which has a long-standing presence in Holderness Road in the heart of east Hull, is the new chest sponsor on next season’s soon-to-be-revealed home and away shirts from kit manufacturer XBlades.

Previously a collar sponsor a few seasons ago, it marks a welcome return for the thriving family firm.

Hull KR’s Head of Commercial Joe Clutterbrook said: “On behalf of the club, I’d like to thank everybody at Hull Angling Centre for their support.

“As well as attracting new sponsors to the club, a big focus of our commercial team has been put on looking after our existing partners and trying to welcome some of the older ones back into the fold.

“Hull Angling Centre can trace its roots back over 25 years so they’re very much a part of the local community like ourselves and they’re a perfect example of the type of local business we’re eager to work with.”

Hull Angling Centre Managing Director, Steve Ashton, added: “As big supporters of the club, we felt the time was right to come back on the shirts for next season, particularly now we are in the Championship.

“We’ve always seen our sponsorship as a chance to grow our profile amongst the rugby league fan base and give something back to the local community. A lot of our customers live in the area and are Hull Kingston Rovers fans, so we know what the club means to us and other people.

“Hull KR needs local businesses to get behind them now more than ever so it feels like the ideal time for us to get back involved.”

As well as offering friendly advice, fresh bait and equipment to suit all budgets in store, Hull Angling Centre also operates a substantial online service offering a variety of tackle from the leading manufacturers in match, coarse, carp, predator and sea fishing.
