Coaching Trio sign on for 2022
Hull KR is delighted to announce assistant coaches, Stanley Gene, Danny McGuire, and David Hodgson have signed one-year extensions to stay at Hull College Craven Park for 2022.
The trio has been essential to the Robins’s progress on and off-field in 2021 as KR secured a sixth-placed Betfred Super League finish in addition to a playoff semi-final berth.
With over 800 Super League appearances between the trio, Tony Smith emphasised their overwhelmingly, positive influence on the squad.
“We’re delighted to retain and progress with the coaching staff we have at Hull KR. They’ve done a great job this year. All three are not only knowledgeable within their roles but they care a whole lot about our players.
“They give great insights from their previous experiences as players but also their previous experiences as coaches. Danny (McGuire), Stan (Gene), and Dave (Hodgson) have been able to help develop players on an individual basis as well as the team collectively.
“I think there’s a real compliment of skill sets within the group which has seen a great response from the players.”
Smith was quick to point out the important ‘blend’ of McGuire, Gene, and Hodgson having all played for Hull KR but experienced different cultures at other clubs during their respective playing careers.
“It’s great that all three they’ve had some insight into our past and our history (playing for Hull KR) and each influenced their own unique positive ways – they care deeply about the club.
“The fact that each of them has also brought their experiences from other clubs and cultures they’ve come from has added to that too. The blend of that is really important to our culture at Hull KR.”Back To Latest News +
