Rovers welcome Lizzie Jones and the Funky Choir

Lizzie Jones and Cheshire-based TheFunkyChoir.com, led by Hull-born (and lifelong Rovers fan) Brent Robinson, will headline the club’s pre-match entertainment on Sunday, 21st May when the Robins host Swinton at KCOM Craven Park.

Current 'Inspirational Woman Of The Year' for ITV's Lorraine Kelly show, Lizzie Jones has performed throughout the UK, both on stage and on screen. Her most notable event was when she sang the traditional hymn ‘Abide With Me’, live at Wembley, prior to the Hull KR Challenge Cup Final game with Leeds Rhinos in 2015.

TheFunkyChoir.com are touring Hull for the City of Culture celebrations, performing four charity fund-raisers in three days. A community choir, they performed 67 times in 2016 entertaining thousands and raising much needed funds for a variety of charities.

Lizzie and the choir are performing to raise funds for the Danny Jones Defibrillator Charity, set up by Lizzie following Danny’s tragic, premature death while playing for Keighley Cougars in London. There will be a bucket collection on the day supported by Rovers Supporters Group, Wyke Ladies RFC and East Hull u12s.

For those who can’t make the game or who wish to donate directly, please go to Lizzie’s Fundraising page www.justgiving.com/danny-jones-defibrillator-fund where donations can also attract gift aid. Please add RRTR in the comments box so that Lizzie knows it’s from HKR supporters.

TheFunkyChoir.com will perform an upbeat set of songs that will be sure to get the fans rockin’ and boppin’ and Lizzie will top off the performance with her wonderfully moving rendition of ‘Abide With Me’.
