Key changes made to matchday parking
Hull Kingston Rovers would like to make supporters aware of some key changes to matchday parking at KCOM Craven Park ahead of Thursday’s game against Catalans Dragons.
The club has been aware of some issues regarding the car park at the opening match of the new Betfred Super League season and has therefore conducted a full review of our matchday car parking system.
To ensure a smoother and quicker running of the car park on a matchday moving forwards, the club has now made the decision that we will no longer make available additional car parking spaces in the Floc Roger Millward Stand car park on a game by game basis.
This car park will be reserved for supporters and commercial sponsors who have paid for a seasonal car parking pass, along with members of the media.
However, the club recognises that there is additional demand on a matchday from supporters without a seasonal car parking pass and has therefore secured parking in the nearby Poundstretcher car park on Poorhouse Lane for home and away fans wishing to pay £5 on the day.
Please note, this car park will only be open for evening matches and a separate solution will be sought for fixtures that clash with the store’s normal opening hours. This car park will open from 6.15pm on the evening of a match and will be limited to 60 car parking spaces initially during a review phase.
Moving forward, this will fully ensure that every supporter who has pre-paid for a seasonal parking pass in the Floc Roger Millward Stand car park has a space reserved for them at each game, allowing them to arrive at the ground at the time of their choosing.
The club has also put in place measures to improve the communication amongst our stewards and car parking team to ensure a smoother flow of traffic into the car park to cut down on queues at the gate.
Unfortunately, we cannot control traffic outside of the stadium boundary on nearby roads, but will continue to work closely with Hull City Council to control the traffic lights in the local vicinity as much as possible.
Supporters are further reminded that this Thursday’s game kicks off at 7.35pm.
The club asks fans parking on the local streets around KCOM Craven Park to be considerate of local residents and to park their cars in a safe and reasonable manner.
Supporters should not utilise private car parks for businesses operating on Preston Road and surrounding areas without express permission from those businesses.
