Club launch 2019 charity shirt…
Hull Kingston Rovers have unveiled the club’s charity shirt for the 2019 season to commemorate the end of World War One. The shirt has tonight been unveiled ahead of the 100 year anniversary and we are honoured to remember and respect those fallen heroes from all conflicts.
Sponsored by Motor Depot and once again produced by kit manufacturer XBlades Sports, the shirt features a Poppy field design, along with crosses of remembrance and depictions of soldiers.
The club have taken the unusual step of launching the charity and third shirt of 2019, ahead of the home and away shirts which are will be launched before Christmas, to coincide with the 100 year anniversary next month.
The club would like to thank the following kit sponsors for their support, Motor Depot, IRS, Outbox, FTP Electrical, Blades Restaurants, Steve Leaming Plant, Spire Healthcare, Easy Buy LTD, RSV Building Plastics and Van Hire, Hirebase and Aspire Academy.
Hull KR’s Head of Marketing, Ticketing and Retail, Craig Franklin, commented “It’s an absolute honour to reveal this shirt and pay tribute to all those who have made sacrifices to keep us safe.
Whilst our membership campaign theme for 2019 is Red Army, we felt it was important we also tell the story of the serious side of War and horrific consequences it can have.
We value our role within the community and acknowledge that we have a role to play to help educate the next generation of supporters on the sacrifices so many made, but also the on-going impact war has had on this City and club.
We plan to share those stories throughout 2019, with a particular focus on a themed matchday, and we’ll look forward to encouraging supporter participation in this process.
Not to mention, the 100 year anniversary of the end of WW1 provides as a timely place to raise some much need funds to help support those most affected. We’ll be announcing details of the charity partnership which these projects will support very soon and we’ll look forward to working with them throughout 2019.”
The shirt will be will be priced at £49 for adults, with the men’s shirt coming in sizes XS-6XL and the women’s shirt being available in sizes starting at 8, and for the first time ever, up to size 20. The junior shirts will be priced at £42 and will be available in sizes 6yrs-14yrs.
Supporters are reminded that as with all charity shirts, they are limited edition, once the shirts have sold out there won’t be any more coming back into stock so we would urge buying early to avoid missing out.
The new 2019 charity shirt is on sale now online at hullkr.co.uk/poppy and in store, at both the City Centre Savile Street Store and at the newly opened Fan Experience Zone at KCOM Craven Park from 9am tomorrow morning. The Fan Experience Zone will remain open until 6pm on Friday for supporters who would like to call in after work to pick up a shirt.
