Breakfast Bonanza
Rugby League is a physically demanding sport so our first team players have to eat the correct foods to give them energy, help their muscles repair and strengthen their bones. It is equally as important for children to eat the right foods enabling them to develop into strong and healthy adults.
Rufus the Robin is currently visiting schools in Hull, helping teachers to introduce the idea of nutritious food to the cities youngsters. Rufus is accompanied by members of the Community Team who attend breakfast clubs at local primary schools, talking to the children about the importance of eating breakfast. The Community Team then stays at the school and delivers an assembly to the whole school explaining how Rufus the Robin follows a healthily diet.
"The way the Community Team communicates with the children means they are engaged, are thoroughly interested and participate fully. They put over an extremely important message. I thoroughly recommend this assembly to all primary schools." Miss S Brummitt, Head Teacher - Gillshill Primary.
