BRISCOE AND FOX JOKERS OF THE ENGLAND PACK

Story in brief:
Hull KR pair Peter Fox and Shaun Briscoe are helping to lighten the mood ahead of Saturday's Gillette Four Nations Final according to England teammate Michael Shenton.

It comes after Sam Burgess learnt never to leave his mobile phone unattended again in the build-up to Saturday's Gillette Four Nations Final after falling victim to a text prank involving his soon-to-be boss, South Sydney Rabbitohs co-owner and film star Russell Crowe.

After leaving his mobile on a table for less than five minutes at the weekend an unnamed England team mate picked up the phone and texted "I love you Russell" to film star Crowe, the man who persuaded Burgess to leave Bradford Bulls for the NRL.

The text prank on the 6ft 5in, 17st 5lb Burgess is just one of many that according to Castleford Tigers centre Michael Shenton is helping boost team morale in the England camp ahead of Saturday's final against Australia.

Speaking to www.gillette4nations.co.uk, Shenton said: "It was quiet to start with but things are slowly starting to kick off. People leaving mobile phones at dinner tables are being back pocketed.

"Sam Burgess got his phone taken and someone texted Russell Crowe, so that was a pretty good one.

"Benny Westwood also had his phone taken and the Chief Executive of Warrington got a couple of messages as well. Simon Moran is a music promoter and he got a few texts asking for tickets to music concerts."

Despite the pranks on Burgess and Westwood, Shenton believes the two jokers in the England camp are the Hull KR duo of Peter Fox and Shaun Briscoe who are constantly playing tricks on each other.

"Peter Fox and Shaun Briscoe are hilarious," said Shenton. "If anyone reads Shaun's newspaper column, he constantly hammers Peter Fox. Peter is a great lad but he can be a bit slack and Shaun takes advantage of that.

"But Peter when he gets the opportunity fights back.

"The other day in the Hilton reception, the lift was coming up and Peter just threw Shaun's bag in the elevator and it went up with no-one in it.

"Shaun was looking around saying ‘Where's my bag gone?' It was brilliant."
