I'ANSON TO REMAIN A ROBIN

Story in brief:
Hull Kingston Rovers have moved to keep Chaz I’Anson at the club for a further year...

As revealed exclusively in this morning's Hull Daily Mail, the versatile youngster has agreed to a new deal that will see him in a Rovers shirt until the end of the 2010 campaign.

The 22-year old turned out 14 times for the Robins in 2009, scoring one try and creating three more to add to the one try in eight appearances he contributed in 2008.

I’Anson made his Super League debut in 2007 after joining from Leeds Rhinos and has the ability to cover a number of positions in the back-line and is at his most comfortable operating at stand-off.

The young English talent believes he can continue his development and be part of a successful team by staying in East Hull.

“We’ve got a good squad and the club as a whole is going places so I’m pleased to be staying.  We’ve improved every year in Super League and I think we can look to continue that next year,” commented Chaz.

“I made more appearances last season than I did the year before and obviously the target now is to better that again and establish myself as a regular in the team.”

“The expectations are going to be high from supporters next year after finishing fourth but we’ll set our goals at the start of the season like we always do and if we can continue to develop as we have done then I see no reason why we can’t meet those expectations,” he added.

Rovers Head Coach Justin Morgan said of I’Anson’s new deal: “Chaz is a good guy to have in the squad because he can cover a number of positions and do a pretty good job in all of them.”

“He is developing as a player all the time with the more experience he gets at Super League level and he will be a real asset to us again for 2010.”

“He played in half of our games in Super League XIV so the challenge is there for him to build on that and make even more of a contribution next season,” Morgan added.

More comment from both Chaz I'Anson and Justin Morgan can be found in today's (Saturday) Hull Daily Mail.
