LOVEGROVE EXTENDS CONTRACT AT ROVERS
Friday 28th August 2009
Registered as Club Trained, Lovegrove will remain at the club until the end of 2010 and is happy with the opportunities that Rovers boss Justin Morgan has given him since arriving in the UK back in 2007.
"Justin gave me my first opportunity in this country and l want to be here at the club for a lot longer." Lovegrove commented.
The 22-year-old was keen to extend his stay at Craven Park and is determined to develop his game to challenge for a first team spot regularly.
He said: “I'm still a young player and I have improvements to make in my game and I want to make those improvements here at Rovers".
"Sometimes players go off the boil when they sign a long term deal so signing a one year deal will prevent that from happening”.
"I'm happy with a one year deal and I'll back myself next season to get another new contract.
"It's a good pressure to have and will keep me on my feet and drive me towards better performances.
Head Coach Justin Morgan added: “Rhys is a good player with huge amounts of talent and potential, he also adds a different dimension to our game and how we play which is a massive advantage to us.”
